Division isn't bad altogether, but what is important is the basis upon which we divide ourselves.

Jesus states, "I did not come to bring peace, but I came to DIVIDE (be the sword). The sword figuratively represents retribution and fair justice from the Greek word, machaira (http://concordances.org/greek/3162.htm).

Matthew 10: (34-36) NIV
34“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn “‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— 36a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’

I believe that Jesus  would NOT DIVIDE people upon differing religious beliefs, differing sexual preferences, differing races, differing political stances, whether we drink alcohol or don't drink alcohol, etc.

I believe that Jesus WOULD DIVIDE people upon the basis of "those who strive to live in love for themselves and other people" and "those who DO NOT strive to live in love for themselves and other people."

If you diasgree, then please answer the following question, "What basis do you believe Jesus would divide upon?"
